In a New York state of mind

This time next week we’ll be there – arguing with security guards, cursing rude cab drivers, browsing in Border’s, shopping in Gap, reading the Times, dodging puddles, looking at Picassos and Cézannes, paying astronomical prices for wines, seeing G. Bush on TV, ah-ing at the giant Christmas tree…
Just like home then.

Doing a lot more walking these days – which is good for me. But to get to more distant places like the barber’s, library, post office, I have to borrow DG’s car. After all, I can’t go wearing out mine.

Teh absolutel biggest problem with staying in New York is the prices of the hotel rooms. Where do you stay for less than 400 dollars a night? I can't find a room for less than that worth staying in!

Probably cheaper to fly DG's car over to NY as well and then sleep in it!

You're dead right Ed. $411 to be exact. Doesn't sound as bad in Sterling - £215 - but it's still outrageous. As fares go down, demand goes up, and with it hotel prices. But once in five years...
Gillie, you've obviously never spent a night in a Puma
